Vila Ranta is an example of a complete renovation of the 1990-s lake beach house. The new owner wanted to keep the perfect architecture designed by the Architect Jakko Nikkila for his own family but to add functionality, new up-to-date equipment, new design and, of course, art. The Vila is set up on a high hill above Saimaa lake, with breathtaking views over the water and islands. The Vila’s main facade is East oriented — providing maximum sun in the mornings, while clever window location is giving sun to the social area in the evenings, protecting the house from overheating during sunny days.
